The founder

I built this because I lived the gap.

I came to Canada carrying everything — education, drive, a deep belief that people deserved better systems. And I walked straight into a workforce that wasn't built for me. Not built for people who look like me, sound like me, or came from where I came from.

So I learned how the system worked. And then I went inside it — designing programs, writing curriculum, building pathways for Black and racialized communities that kept getting left out of the conversation. For over a decade, I did that work from the inside.

GROW Equity Services is what happens when you stop waiting for the system to change and build the thing yourself. It's consulting rooted in lived experience. Stories written for children who deserve to see themselves — fully — in the books they read. Mentorship that tells young people the things nobody told me.

From a Jamaican mother who believes in belonging. For Toronto's Black communities and every family that has been told to wait their turn.

We're not waiting anymore.
